The Ned is a private members club based in London (Ned’s Club), along with public restaurants, spa, gym and hotel. Membership to Ned’s Club is for like-minded professionals and requires its members and their guests to accept the standards of conduct and rules in our club.

1. Ned Friends

Each Ned Friends member contracts with The Ned company. The Ned reserves the right at its absolute discretion to change The Ned company with whom a Ned Friends member contracts from time to time. The Ned will inform each Ned Friends member of the name of The Ned company with whom he or she contracts by email when we confirm your membership approval and/ or renewal, and also when we change your contracting The Ned company at any time. In these rules, we will refer to that company as ‘The Ned’.

The Ned reserves the right to charge members an annual subscription fee and for admission to our spaces from time to time. The right to change or waive any such fees or subscriptions from time to time shall be at The Ned’s sole discretion.

2. Your Ned Friends membership application

 

By completing and submitting your application for a Ned Friends membership via thened.com, you agree to these terms.

The Ned reviews Ned Friends applications weekly and admits new members when space is available. The Ned has discretion as to who our Ned Friends are.

You are free to withdraw your application to Ned Friends at any time. Should you wish to do so, please contact our team at membership@thened.com. If your membership application is accepted, we will confirm by sending you a ‘Welcome to Ned Friends’ email. Your annual membership will start on the date we receive payment from you.

 

3. Proposing new Ned Friends members

 

Both Ned’s Club members and existing Ned Friends members are welcome to propose new applicants to Ned Friends. The application form is available at thened.com/membership/friends.

 

4. Ned Friends membership renewal

 

Membership of Ned Friends is for a minimum period of one year and renewable thereafter on an annual basis.

Ned Friends membership renewals are not automatic and are reviewed by The Ned on an annual basis. The decision of The Ned is final and without appeal.

5. Ned Friends membership database

 

For safety and security, it is important for us to have your current details and a photograph in our membership database. By becoming a member of Ned Friends, you agree that we can hold your personal details and a photograph of you for us to use in connection with your membership. If your contact or payment details change, please let us know via your account page on the Ned Friends app, or by emailing membership@thened.com.

 

6. Ned Friends membership payment

 

Upon approval or renewal of your membership, your membership fees become payable immediately. By providing us with your payment details, you consent to being charged with membership fees in the form requested by The Ned upon being approved or renewed. The Ned can amend your membership fees at any time, and we will tell you in advance if there are to be any changes to the amount, date or frequency of the payment of your membership fees.

Failure to pay the annual subscription (or any instalment thereof) within one month of the due date will result in the member not being admitted to our spaces and the membership being terminated.

 

7. Resignation of your Ned Friends membership and renewals

 

If you have selected monthly or annual payment and choose to resign your Ned Friends membership (or your membership is cancelled part way through the year), you will still need to pay your full Ned Friends membership fee for the remainder of the year. Refunds will be at the discretion of The Ned.

All Ned Friends memberships will automatically renew unless either (i) you chose to resign or (ii) your Ned Friends membership is terminated by The Ned (at its sole discretion).

The Ned will contact you two weeks prior to your auto renewal to inform you of the price of your Ned Friends membership for the upcoming year.

8. Ned Friends membership cards

 

Your digital membership card is in the profile section of the Ned Friends app. Members are able to download it as a card in their Apple Wallet on an iPhone and in the account section on an Android phone. Screen grabbing and sharing of membership cards is not allowed, and will result in membership being terminated.

9. Your personal information

 

We will use the personal information you provide to us in connection with your Ned Friends membership in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

10. Bedrooms

 

As a Ned Friends member, you can book to stay at our bedrooms at The Ned (subject to availability). As a Ned Friends member, you can invite a guest(s) to stay with you in the room, provided that at all times the number of guests does not exceed the occupancy capacity for that room. While staying in our bedrooms, you may also invite one guest. For more information on bringing guests to Ned’s Club and Ned Friends members’ spaces, see the ‘GUESTS’ section (section 16) below.

To book a room, please visit the bedrooms section of the Ned Friends app and on thened.com. Please note that all room bookings are subject to the room booking terms and conditions. In order to benefit from your Ned Friends member rate, you must be a current Ned Friends member on the date you made your booking, as well as the dates of your bedroom stay(s).

11. Cowshed spa treatments

 

As a Ned Friends member, you can book treatments at the Ned’s Club spa and the following standalone Cowshed spas globally, plus receive the Ned Friends members’ rate on treatments and products.
UK: Shoreditch & Primrose Hill.

As a Ned Friends member, you can also invite one guest to have a Cowshed spa treatment with you, subject to availability. Your Ned Friends members’ rate is applicable to all treatments paid in a single transaction. You can find your Ned Friends members’ rate when logged in on thened.com. However, if you want to use this special rate for guest treatments, the Ned Friends member will have to be present at the time of the guest’s treatment and payment. To book, please visit the Cowshed section of the Ned Friends app or thened.com/spa-and-grooming. All spa bookings will be subject to the spa booking terms and conditions made available to you upon confirmation of your booking.

Please note that Cowshed Selfridges, Cowshed St Moritz, Cowshed Berlin, Cowshed Istanbul, Cowshed Barcelona and Cowshed Amsterdam are not included in the Ned Friends membership. You will only be able to use your Ned Friends members’ rate at Soho House spas (Soho Farmhouse, Babington House, Soho House New York, Soho House Chicago, Soho Beach House Miami) when you are either (i) staying in a bedroom or (ii) the guest of a Soho House member.

 

12. Restaurants

 

Ned Friends members can also take advantage of 20% off on all food and beverage in The Ned’s ground floor public restaurants and Soho House public restaurants after 4pm on a Sunday through to closing on a Wednesday. Soho House restaurants include: Cecconi’s, Cecconi’s Pizza Bar, Dirty Burger (all locations), Pizza East (all locations), Chicken Shop (all locations), Café Boheme, Dean Street Townhouse, Farmshop Bicester, High Road House Brasserie and Electric Diner.

13. SOHO HOME+

 

As a Ned Friends member, you will receive 15% off on all non-sale items and free interior design advice (subject to the applicable SOHO HOME+ and interior design services terms at sohohome.com/terms). Ned Friends members can also enjoy free shipping on non-heavy goods items and concierge services on purchases above £2,000. Please note that all Soho Home purchases will be subject to the Soho Home purchase terms and conditions at sohohome.com/terms.

14. Guests

 

Ned Friends members can bring up to 3 guests for drinks in the Ned Friends spaces or up to six people if you are dining. If you would like to bring a guest with you into The Ned as part of your bedroom stay, you will need to invite them using the ‘Ned Guest’ feature in the Ned Friends app, or include their name on the booking as part of your reservation. Your guest(s) will not be able to enter any Ned members’ space until you arrive. Your guest must not be separated from you within any of our members’ spaces and they will not be allowed to remain there after you leave. Please be aware that during certain times we may have to restrict member/guest access to specific areas within our members’ spaces (for example, due to social distancing or during private hire). You will be responsible for ensuring all guests follow all our Ned’s Club and Ned Friends rules and policies (as applicable). As a Ned Friends member, you can face suspension or termination of your membership if your guests violate any of our rules or policies.

17. Children

  

All our Ned spaces are designed for adults, but children can enjoy use of the outdoor pool 7am-10am daily and the Sunday Feast. Please be considerate of other members when you bring any children with you and ensure they are not left unattended at any time.

18. Privacy for other Ned Friends members/ guests

 

Ned Friends members and their guests must not approach, disturb or solicit others in all members’ spaces who they do not know. Doing so may lead to suspension or termination of your Ned Friends membership.

19. Mobile phones

 

To protect the relaxed atmosphere within our Ned Friends spaces, members may not take or make phone calls (except in designated areas within our spaces) and phones should be on silent mode. Texting is allowed. Please ensure that your guests adhere to our phone policy while visiting our spaces.

20. Cameras/ recording devices

 

No cameras, video or other recording devices, whether live-streaming or otherwise, and whether on a mobile phone or other medium, may be used while in our members’ spaces. Members are responsible for ensuring that their guests also abide by this rule. The Ned reserves the right to take possession of and confiscate any mobile phone, camera, video or other recording device and any photos, videos or other recorded images used or taken while in our members’ spaces.

21. Audio/ video sound

 

Movies, videos, songs, internet calls, presentations and all other audio must only be played through headphones and should not be audible to any other member or guest present.

22. Press/ social media

 

The Ned and our member spaces operate a strict no-press policy. Members will be held accountable if they or their guests disclose or identify any other members or guests who are in our spaces, whether in any press or social media, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and on personal blogs. Similarly, members and their guests must refrain from identifying or describing any private hire or member event occurring in our spaces.

23. Confidentiality

 

The Ned management and all staff members adhere to the strictest confidentiality standards, and pledge to maintain all records and personal information concerning the members and their guests in the strictest confidence. As a Ned Friends member you pledge to maintain all records and personal information concerning Ned management, Ned employees other Ned members and their guests in the strictest confidence.

24. Illegal drugs/ substances/ items

 

No member or guest shall purchase, use, ingest, possess, sell or otherwise distribute illegal drugs or other substances, or attempt to do any of the same from any member or guest, or shall ask any Ned staff for illegal drugs or other substances while in our spaces or nearby. If any of the actions above prove true, the relevant member and/ or guest will be removed and the membership in question will be terminated. Depending on the circumstances, we may call the police or inform the relevant authorities.

25. Bills

 

All bills must be settled in full before leaving the space, either by using a credit card or through Ned Pay (which will be on the Ned Friends app). Ned Pay can only be used if available at the location. Members are responsible for their guests’ bills if they are not paid and may face suspension if such unpaid bills are not settled promptly.

26. Food and beverages

 

Please refrain from bringing any outside food or beverages to any members’ space, unless medically necessary.

27. Private hire and house maintenance

 

We may at times close all or part of our spaces to members and their guests for private events or for necessary maintenance, repair or redecoration work.

Where we close part of the space for private events, please honour and respect the privacy of all private events occurring in the space and refrain from communicating any information about the event to third parties.

Where all or part of a space is closed for maintenance, repair or redecoration work, or where we need to withdraw facilities or services because we consider that they may pose a risk to the health or safety of our members, guests or staff, or that they are detrimental to the business, we will ensure that any such area, facility or service is reinstated as soon as practicable.

28. Capturing events in our spaces

 

We love to hear what our members and guests get up to at The Ned. While you are a member or a guest at The Ned or in our member spaces, we may ask you to give your views of, and experiences at, The Ned. And we may also film, video or photograph our member events and activities at The Ned and/ or spaces for use in our membership programmes, advertising, promotions, public relations, and other commercial/ business purposes. If you take part in these interviews or events, you agree that we may use your name, image and other limited information and give us your consent to publish any materials produced by, or for us, for any purpose without your further consent, and you waive your right to receive any payment from us in connection with such publication.

29. Accidents and injuries

 

We want all our members and guests to relax and enjoy the activities and facilities available in our spaces safely. Members and their guests agree to observe the Ned Friends rules and any signs published or displayed at The Ned.

If a member or guest has an accident or suffers any injury at, or nearby, the Ned or in our member spaces, please report this as soon as possible to a member of staff, and in any event within 24 hours of the incident. As well as wanting to check on a member or guest’s wellbeing, this information is needed in order to help us comply with our health and safety obligations and for insurance purposes.

30. Entering/ leaving our spaces

 

All members and their guests are asked to respect our nearby residents by being quiet when entering or leaving our spaces, or while in the surrounding area.

31. Animals

 

No animals will be allowed in our spaces except for assistance dogs and medium sized dogs when staying in our bedrooms.

32. CCTV

 

Members and their guests should be aware that for safety reasons we use CCTV across all of our spaces.

33. Smoking policy

 

All members and their guests are obligated to abide by the smoking policy that’s in effect in our spaces, and to all applicable no-smoking governmental laws, rules and regulations. No smoking (including e-cigarettes and vapes) is allowed inside any of our spaces at any time. The Ned reserves the right to prohibit or limit smoking in any area of our premises at any time at its sole discretion.

The Ned reserves the right to designate certain outside areas of our premises as smoking areas and to change the location of such areas at any time. However, all members and their guests are requested to respect the wishes of other members and their guests in relation to smoking and to refrain from smoking when requested to do so.

34. Ned Pay

 

Part of the Ned Friends app, Ned Pay provides members with the ability to pay for food, drink and tips within our member spaces and in The Ned and Soho House public restaurants. It also recognises any special rates automatically. As part of the setting up process, you will be asked to add a credit or debit card as your default payment method. As Ned Pay is an in-app function, you’ll need your phone to open, view and pay your bill. If you forget to pay your bill, we will settle it using the default payment method on file. You will then receive a notification confirming that your bill has been closed and also an e-receipt in the Ned Friends app.

35. Disciplinary procedure

 

Conduct by a member or guest that is prejudicial to the reputation and character of The Ned may result in suspension or expulsion of that member or guest. Such conduct may include inappropriate, discriminatory, violent or abusive behaviour, and anything that goes against our policies for diversity and inclusion, or the communication of information concerning The Ned affairs or the affairs of the Ned Friends space, members or their guests in the club or Ned Friends space to the media. An expelled member may not return to the club or Ned Friend as a guest. A refund of the expelled member’s subscription will be at the discretion of The Ned. Any member or members who wilfully remove, damage or destroy any property belonging to The Ned or Ned Friends space, or to members or guests on the premises of The Ned or the Ned Friends space, will be liable to expulsion and/ or suspension or termination of their membership.

Every member binds him/ her/ themselves to abide by the rules, bylaws and regulations of The Ned at all times upon acceptance as a member. If The Ned considers that any member’s (or their guest’s) conduct either inside or outside of The Ned premises, at its absolute discretion, contrary to the interests of The Ned, The Ned, with immediate effect, expel the member or guest from the premises and/ or suspend or terminate that member’s membership without having to give any reason to such member or guest.

36. Constitution

Our member spaces are constituted to encourage non-political, social and recreational activities.

37. Rights and privileges of membership

 

A Ned Friends member shall be entitled to all the rights and privileges of (a) the Ned Friends spaces and (b) where you are invited in with a Ned’s Club member or as part of a bedroom stay, the Ned’s Club spaces granted to a person in his or her capacity as a member, and shall be bound by these rules, but shall have no proprietary rights in any of the premises or in respect of property of the Ned Friends space or Ned’s Club (where applicable).

38. The Ned trademark rights

 

Members and their guests shall not use the names, logos, colours, trademarks, service marks, photographs, trade dress, or other identifying features of The Ned without obtaining the specific prior written approval of The Ned as to the specific use.

You hereby expressly recognise that The Ned Marks are the valid, unique and exclusive property of The Ned, its parent, affiliates and/ or subsidiaries. Members and their guests may not produce, use or create, or authorise others to produce, use or create The Ned Marks for any purpose whatsoever, including, but not limited to, in any communications, marketing, advertising or other promotional materials (including, but not limited to, brochures, flyers, invitations, e-mail messages, etc) that utilise The Ned Marks without The Ned’s prior written consent.

39. Use of equipment and facilities

 

Ned Friends members will only be able to access the club gym as part of a bedroom stay. Use of any of the gym or fitness equipment, areas or facilities available at the club is entirely at the risk of a member or their guests. Introduction sessions explaining how to safely and properly use the gym or fitness equipment are available. You must not use any equipment or undertake any activity at the club unless you are satisfied that you are competent to do so in a safe and proper manner. You will also be required to complete a health commitment statement confirming that you are in good health and in a fit state to use our gyms.

When using any equipment and facilities available at the club or a Ned Friends space, you must take care to safeguard your own health and safety and that of other people. You will be solely responsible for any loss or injury that you cause to yourself, other persons or to the equipment or facilities to the extent that it is caused through your unsafe or improper use of the equipment or facilities (including your use of them while under the influence of alcohol or medication), or your failure to advise staff of a medical condition relevant to your use of the equipment or facilities.

40. Post

Members may not send personal post or packages to The Ned.

41. Liability of The Ned

 

All items brought into any Ned Friends member spaces (including Soho House group restaurants) and/or The Ned are brought and left entirely at the risk of a member or his/ her/ their guests. The Ned, its representatives and/ or agents shall not be liable to any member or guest for any loss, damage or injury suffered by them or their property howsoever caused, save in respect of death or personal injury to a member or guest to the extent caused by the negligence of The Ned, its representatives and/ or agents. This is not intended to affect any mandatory rights a member or guest may have under local law that we cannot legally restrict or exclude.

42. Interpretation of the rules

 

In the event of any dispute arising as to the meaning or interpretation of these rules, the matter shall be referred to The Ned, whose decision with respect to your membership shall be final and without appeal.

These rules shall be governed and construed in accordance with English law and each member agrees to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.

43. Amendments to the Ned Friends membership terms

 

The Ned may change these Ned Friends rules from time to time by displaying notification of the change on thened.com and the Ned Friends app. Please be aware that the latest version of the Ned Friends membership terms is displayed on thened.com and the Ned Friends app.
