These club rules set out the terms and conditions of membership and entry into the premises and have been created to safeguard the use and enjoyment of THE NED and NED’S CLUB by its members and their guests and all others entering THE NED and NED’S CLUB.
THE NED and NED’S CLUB are a hotel, proprietary membership restaurant and club. The Proprietor reserves the right to charge members a joining fee, an annual subscription fee and an admission fee to THE NED and NED’S CLUB premises from time to time. THE NED AND NED’S CLUB are open to the non-members for a $50 daily fee. The right to amend or waive any such fees or subscriptions shall be in the Proprietor’s sole discretion.
THE NED and NED’S CLUB management and all staff members adhere to the strictest confidentiality standards and pledge to maintain all records and personal information concerning the members and their guests in the strictest confidence.
A member shall be entitled to all the rights and privileges of NED’S CLUB and shall be bound by these rules but shall have no proprietary rights in any of the premises or in respect of property of THE NED or NED’S CLUB.
NED’S CLUB offers a variety of membership categories. On joining NED’S CLUB your membership category will be determined by reference to NED’S CLUB eligibility criteria and this will determine the fees you pay for the membership areas. Membership subscription is for a minimum of one year. Members who join the club while under 30 years of age may enjoy the benefit from a discount on the membership fee and joining fee, up until renewal following their 30th birthday, alongside other discounts. The membership fees of Founder Members (by invitation only) will remain fixed for five years from the start date of the membership, following which they will be subject to an increase of no more than 5% per annum thereafter.
Upon approval or renewal of your membership, your membership fees become payable immediately. By providing us with your payment details, you accept and consent to being charged with membership fees in the form requested by NED’S CLUB upon your application being approved or renewed. It is within our discretion to amend our membership fees at any time, and we will notify you in advance if there are to be any changes to the amount, date or frequency of the payment of your membership fees. Failure to pay the annual subscription (or any instalment thereof) within one month of the due date will result in the member not being admitted to the Club and the membership being terminated.
Membership renewals are not automatic and are reviewed by the Renewal Committee on an annual basis. Membership to the club requires adherence to accepted standards of conduct and the rules of the club. The decision of the Renewal Committee is final and without appeal, and no reason will be given for refusal of a membership renewal at any stage. You will be given minimum two weeks’ notice if your membership renewal is accepted or declined.
It is important for the Membership team to have your current contact details, plus a photograph, in the membership database. If your contact or payment details change, please let the Membership team know via membership@thened.com.
If you have selected quarterly or annual payment and choose to resign your membership (or your membership is cancelled part way through the year), you will still need to pay your full membership fee for the remainder of the year. Refunds will be at the discretion of NED’S CLUB.
Members are welcome to propose new applicants to join the Club. Membership applications can be made at https://www.thened.com/nomad/membership. The Membership Committee meet quarterly and admit new members when space is available. Acceptance as a member of NED’S CLUB is at the sole discretion of the Membership Committee.
All visitors and their guests must dress presentably. Gym clothes, flip-flops, dirty trainers, and ripped trousers are not permitted in Ned’s Club. Shorts may be worn in the indoor Club spaces until 5pm but are never permitted in The Dining Room. This Summer, Ned’s Club will allow smart shorts to be worn on the Rooftop, ending Labor Day.
Ned’s Club members must adhere to guest allowance policies as communicated by the membership team from time to time. Members are permitted to have three (3) guests in the Club spaces at any one given time. Larger party dining reservations can be made by request.
Members and their guests must not approach, disturb or solicit others with whom they are not personally acquainted. Doing so may lead to suspension or termination of membership.
Laptops and discreet phones calls are only permitted in The Library and The Snug until 6pm. Additionally, we ask guests to coat check any belongings including backpacks, shopping bags, and other large personal items before entering the member space.
To ensure the privacy of our members, photography is strictly not permitted inside Ned’s Club.
Movies, videos, songs, webinars and presentations must only be played through headphones and should not be audible to any other member or guest present.
NED’S CLUB has a strict no press policy. Members will be held accountable if they or their guests disclose or identify any other members or guests who are in the Club in any press or social media including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and personal blogs. Similarly, members and their guests must refrain from identifying or describing any private hire or member event occurring at NED’S CLUB.
Members must report any accident or injury they or their guests may have whilst on the premises as soon as possible to a member of management and in any event within 24 hours of the incident. This information is needed in order to comply with health and safety obligations and for insurance purposes.
No member or guest of a member shall use, ingest, purchase, possess or distribute illegal drugs while on NED’S CLUB premises (or attempt to do any of the same). If any of the above prove true, the membership in question will be terminated.
All bills must be settled in full before leaving NED’S CLUB. There are no credit facilities. Members are responsible for their guests’ bills if they are not paid.
All members and their guests are obligated to abide by NED’S CLUB smoking policy then in effect and with all applicable no-smoking governmental laws, rules and regulations. No smoking is permitted inside NED’S CLUB at any time. The Proprietor reserves the right to prohibit or limit smoking in any area of NED’S CLUB premises at any time at its sole discretion. The Proprietor reserves the right to designate certain designated outside areas of THE NED premises as smoking areas and to change the location of such designated areas at any time. All members and their guests are requested to respect the wishes of other members and their guests with respect to smoking and to refrain from smoking when requested to do so by another member.
Please refrain from bringing in any outside food or beverages, unless medically necessary.
All members and their guests are asked to respect our nearby residents by being quiet when leaving THE NED and NED’S CLUB premises or while in the surrounding area.
Children are always welcome in Cecconi’s, and are permitted in Ned’s Club Downstairs on Saturdays and Sundays from 12pm to 5pm. Children must always be supervised by a parent. They count towards the members’ +3 guest count unless a newborn.
No animals will be allowed in NED’S CLUB except service dogs legally qualifying under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Conduct that is prejudicial to the reputation and character of THE NED and NED’S CLUB may result in suspension or expulsion of a member. Such conduct may include improper, violent or abusive behaviour, the communication of information concerning the club affairs or members or their guests to the media, a serious or repeated failure by a member (or any of their guests) to abide by the standards of conduct and the rules of the Club, misuse by a member of their card, or the provision by a member of materially false or misleading information when applying for membership. An expelled member will have their membership terminated and may not return to the Club as a guest or reapply to become a member. A refund of the expelled member’s subscription will be at the discretion of NED’S CLUB. Any member or members who remove, damage or destroy any property belonging to THE NED or NED’S CLUB or to members or to guests on the premises will be liable for the full replacement cost and to expulsion. Every member binds him/herself to abide by the rules, bylaws and regulations of NED’S CLUB upon acceptance as a member. If the Proprietor considers that the conduct of any member (or his or her guests) either inside or outside of THE NED and NED’S CLUB premises is, at its sole discretion, contrary to the interests of NED’S CLUB or the Proprietor, the Proprietor may expel the member and their guests from THE NED and NED’S CLUB premises and/or suspend or terminate that member’s membership.
NED’S CLUB is constituted to encourage non-political, social and recreational activities.
All members and their guests shall not use the names, logos, colours, trademarks, service marks, photographs, trade dress, or other identifying features of NED’S CLUB and THE NED (the “NED Marks”) without obtaining the specific prior written approval of the Proprietor as to the specific use. Members and their guests expressly recognise that the NED Marks are the valid, unique and exclusive property of THE NED and NED’S CLUB, its parent, affiliates and/or subsidiaries. Members and their guests may not produce or create, or authorise others to produce or create, the NED Marks for any purpose whatsoever, including, but not limited to, in any communications, marketing, advertising or other promotional materials (including, but not limited to, brochures, flyers, invitations, e-mail messages, etc.) that utilise the NED Marks without the Proprietor’s prior written consent.
The risk of theft, damage or loss of members’ or guests’ personal possessions cannot be eliminated entirely and members are strongly advised against bringing valuable items such as jewellery or large amounts of cash to THE NED and NED’S CLUB. Management reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to refuse to store any personal property of members or guests. The Proprietor shall not be liable to any member or their guests for any loss, damage or injury suffered by them or to their property in excess of the membership fees paid by such member. The Proprietor shall not be liable to any member or their guests for any indirect or consequential losses. However, this does not exclude or limit in any way the Proprietor’s liability where it would be unlawful to do so, and which includes liability for death or personal injury caused by the Proprietor’s negligence (or the negligence of the Proprietor’s employees, agents or subcontractors) and for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
In the event of any dispute arising as to the meaning or interpretation of these rules, the matter shall be referred to the Renewal Committee, whose decision shall be final. These rules shall be governed and construed in accordance with English law and you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
The Proprietor may change the rules of the Club by displaying notification of the change on the club’s premises for a period of 7 days. A copy of these rules will be made available to all members upon reasonable notice.
